Kenya To Play Ghana Friendly For Nigeria Return Leg

 

Harambee Stars have lined up a friendly match against Ghana on June 1, four days before they host Nigeria in a crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier in Nairobi.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) chairman Sam Nyamweya has confirmed that the plans to host the match against Ghana in Nairobi are complete and the Ghana Football Federation has already accepted the request.

The Black Stars will use the match to prepare for their World Cup qualifying tie against Sudan on June 8.

“We are happy to secure a friendly match for the national team against Ghana. This is will be a big match because Ghana is among the top football nations in Africa,” Nyamweya said. In recent years, Ghana has opted to set camp in either Nairobi or Naivasha whenever they are playing within East Africa or Southern Africa region.

Yobo I am Disappointed In You---Keshi

 

Current AFCON  and Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has expressed serious disappointment in captain Joseph Yobo over his recent outburst about his exclusion from the squad that played 1-1 draw with the Harambee Stars of Kenya in Calabar a fortnight ago in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The Super Eagles Captain, Mr Joseph Yobo former Olympique said in an interview he granted Brila FM on Tuesday morning that he deserves some measure of respect from the Coach Steven Keshi.
Keshi who was shocked at that interview granted by his skipper  told Complete Sports that he is still an integral part of the team despite the emergence of the duo of Kenneth Omeruo and Godfrey Oboabona in the team's central defence.

"I'm disappointed with such reaction from Yobo on his exclusion from the team that played Kenya," began the ex- Mali boss.

"Would he have preferred me bringing him down to put him on the bench for the game and disrupt the chemistry the duo of Kenneth and Godfrey have been forming in recent times? How do you think Nigerians would react if I alter such solid partnership?, " he queried rhetorically.

NFF Request World Cup Qualifying Matches Reschedulment From FIFA

 

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has requested for a reschedulement of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers coming up in June.

While making these request to FIFA, the NFF stated that it wants the game in Nigeria’s group to be staged the same day for the sake of fairness.
According to the NFF General Secretary; Musa Adamu, Malawi will have a better advantage over Nigeria if the request was not made by the NFF as Nigeria would have been engaged in crucial engagement as well as that of Malawi, so requesting for a reschedule is a right path.
“We make this request in the interest of fairness, as at the moment, Nigeria and Malawi have same number of points (five) and for Nigeria to play two days before Malawi in each of the two important qualifying games in June will give undue advantage to the Malawians,”.

Top Egyptian club Al Ahly have indicated interest to sign Flying Eagles skipper Abduljaleel Ajagun.
 
Egyptian journalist Tarek Talaat, who is in Algeria covering the 2013 African youth Championship, said that Ahly coach Hossam Al-Badri has said he would want to sign midfielder Ajagun, who has shone for the Nigeria U20s.
 
The 20-year-old Ajagun, who featured at the 2011 AYC in South Africa, has undergone trials in Europe and he is currently with Nigeria club Dolphins.
